| The bulk of thefts recorded at Budapest Ferihegy airport last year took place in areas where passengers are not present, the head of airport police József Dúzs revealed last week. The most common crime was theft in the baggage sorting area (94, or about half of all cases). There were also 34 reported cases of theft in the passenger lounges, and 14 aboard aircraft. Head of the airport police crime squad, Mónika Nováky noted an increase last year in cases of coordinated theft, where one criminal distracts the victim while an accomplice pilfers their possessions. |
